The Verkhovna Rada passed the 2016 amnesty law

On July 7, 2016, the Verkhovna Rada voted in favor of Bill № 4255, which provides for an amnesty for those categories of convicts who are most vulnerable, including minors and women, as well as men with children under the age of 16 or children with disabilities , for invalids of 1, 2 and 3 groups, patients with tuberculosis, having oncological diseases, persons who have reached retirement age and participants of hostilities, persons who defended independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, who directly participated in anti-terrorist operation and did not commit especially yazhkyh crimes.
